New years card for Japanese class. Every year, all japanese classes make nengajo and have a competition. Everyone votes for three categories: most Artistic, Most comical, and most original. This year I won first place for most artistic. Sensei sent her favorites to a (state or national?) competition. I have not gotten any word back yet about that.
Because of the competition, I could not photoshop mine this year. Inked and colored with prismacolor pencils.

I have started to play Okami for the PS2, so it influenced the design of this picture. These are not any characters from the game.

I got first place in the contest in the most artistic category! It was a state competition and there were about 40 entries. [link] Here is the nengajo that took first place overall.
